Julia Joins the Finnish Prime Minister at 24th Global Forum

Julia headed north this past September to join over 300 invitation only delegates from around the world, including Finnish Prime Minister Juha Sipilä, for the Global Forum, an annual policy and strategy conference for technology leaders which often forecasts world trends in the information and communication industries. This year’s Global Forum was held in Oulu, a Nordic university town and research city about 100 miles from the Arctic Circle, under the theme Digitalisation: Transforming Life & Business. In addition to promoting key EU-funded innovation projects like OpenTransportNet and ECIM, Julia had the honour of moderating a panel of global experts on the new Digital World which examined the way in which the sharing economy is helping to drive the UN’s recently announced post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals. Speakers included, Dr Tim Kelly, Lead ICT Policy Specialist, World Bank Group, Ali Kone, Chief Operating Officer, Code4Africa and Eikazu Niwano, R&D Planning Department, NTT Corporation, Japan.
