On 18 May Pavel went to the University of Greenwich to discuss next stage of FORCE, a Horizon 2020 proposal, with project partners from Denmark, Poland, Belgium and the Czech Republic. FORCE is a proposed acronym for a project which aims to investigate the role of small and family farms in food and nutrition security. The project consortium includes over twenty partners from across Europe, Asia and Africa and covers sectors as diverse as academia, ICT and communications. Relying on such diverse expertise FORCE aims to develop empowering community models that will help small farms and business become more resilient against social, economic, demographic and technological challenges. The final stage of the proposal will look at how these challenges can be addressed using novel tools and methodologies developed by the consortium.
