21c MD Susie Ruston McAleer Joins Judging Panel for O2 NextGen Digital Awards

October 17, 2016

A gathering of project teams from across the UK descended on the House of Lords last week to celebrate the results of the 2016 Digital Challenge at a prestigious dinner event hosted by The Earl of Erroll. The event was the culmination of a year-long 3-stage process starting with an Open Call for Nominations followed by a selection of shortlisted finalists, before the project submissions were assessed by an independent judging panel.

Joining the select judging panel this year was 21c Managing Director, Susie Ruston McAleer. “Its an exciting time to be a judge” said McAleer, “the rate and quality of digital transformation in the public sector has never been so high.  I am particularly delighted to have been asked to present the award for the Open Data category having worked in this field since its inception.”

At the event, Lord Erroll observed that, “imagination and innovation in applied digital technologies is often the result of a collaboration between two or more specialist fields. Time and again this inter-disciplinary process is demonstrated in the case studies that come before the judging panel – new ways of applying digital expertise and insight in unexpected corners of the economy and communities.”

Speaking for O2 Telefonica UK, Head of ICT Sales, Peter Asman noted that “the quality of entries across the board was spectacular, and with these awards highlighting the importance of digital and innovation, the need for organisations to continue to develop and grow in these areas is more apparent than ever” Many of the Awards were presented by members of the judging panel with feedback on the project teams’ final submissions.

Marit Hendriks (co-founder of the Digital Challenge and director NG Ltd) congratulated all of the finalists. “From nominations through to the final judging you have once again contributed to a valuable store of project experiences that will encourage further digital endeavours throughout the UK.”
