February 13, 2015

Smart Cities Birmingham & Antwerp and the Smart region of Liberec in the Czech Republic joined Issy-les-Molineaux on January 27 for an in-depth workshop on how geospatial data can help improve transportation services.  The workshop, part of the EU-funded project OpenTransportNet, was designed to map out real world public sector use cases for geospatial data ranging from improved emergency services in rural areas through to advanced notifications about construction detours and more efficient routing during rush hour.  OpenTransportNet aims to help cities and governments collect, harmonise and visualise transport related data to enable more informed and cost-effective management decisions.
