21c Helps to Open the Digital Agenda Assembly in Dublin

Alongside Jeremy Millard of the Danish Technology Institute, Julia helped to opened Workshop 2 – Going Smart and Accessible in Public Services and Cities at the EU’s Digital Agenda Assembly in Dublin, Ireland on June 19, 2013.   In a change with convention, the Commission asked Julia and Jeremy to abandon PowerPoint and instead each give a five minute vision of the future of public services.  Julia used two well known online brands to make her point:  Facebook and Amazon.  Public services of the future, she argued, should be as ‘anytime, anywhere’ available as Facebook, and as ‘easy to use’ as Amazon.
